Angel West is a shareholder in the firm's Litigation Department.  She practices in the areas of products liability, business and commercial litigation, personal injury, and tort defense.  Angel has obtained successful jury verdicts for clients in both Iowa state and federal district courts.
Angel received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with highest honors, from the University of Iowa.  She earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence, with high honors, from Drake University Law School.  Angel served as the Associate Editor of the Drake Law Review. 
Angel is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State, and American Bar Associations.  She is also a member of the Iowa Defense Counsel Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Litigation Counsel of America, and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. Angel is a member of DRI's Product Liability Committee. Angel also serves as the LCA State Delegation Co-Chair.

Significant Cases

Countryman v. Iowa Double Circle Co-op, et al., No. CL82913 (Iowa Dist. Ct. 2002). Directly involved in the defense of product liability case involving a multi-fatality and multi-burn injury propane explosion.
Bryson v. Ansaldo Industria, No. 3:99-cv-80051 (S.D.Iowa 2001). Directly involved in the defense of steel plant explosion of product liability involving three burn victims at the IPSCO Steel Mill. Participated in over two years of extensive discovery for Italian-based international client; directed verdict in client's favor.
VanEgdom v. Orkin, No. LACV020270 (Iowa Dist. Ct. 1999). Directly involved in the defense of toxic tort/chemical exposure personal injury case; defense verdict.
Wagner Enters., Inc. v. John Deere Shared Servs., Inc., No. 1:04-cv-00098 (N.D.Iowa 2005). Directly involved in the defense of Deere in contract action/licensing agreement dispute; summary judgment granted in Deere's favor.
