Randy Armentrout is a member of the firm's Litigation and Labor and Employment Departments. He graduated with honors from Drake Law School in 1991 and clerked for Justice James Carter of the Iowa Supreme Court and U.S. Eighth Circuit Judge George Fagg. Prior to joining Nyemaster Goode in 2003, Randy practiced for nine years with a law firm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 
Randy tries cases in the area of commercial litigation. He concentrates in the areas of employment law and equipment lease financing. He frequently speaks on sexual harassment, discrimination, employment policies, protecting trade secrets, and non-competition agreements. A growing part of Randy's practice is counseling employers on a wide variety of human resource issues.

Significant Cases

Rouse v. Walter & Assocs., LLC, 513 F. Supp. 2d 1041 (S.D. Iowa 2007). Successful defense of Copyright Act infringement claim based on work-made-for-hire doctrine.
Great Am. Leasing Corp. v. Star Photo Lab, 672 N.W.2d 502 (Iowa Ct. App. 2003).  Enforcement of "hell or high water" provision of finance lease.
Cagin v. McFarland Clinic, 2006 WL 2105022 (8th Cir. 2006). Enforcement of employment contract on behalf of employer.
