Randy Horstmann is a shareholder in our
Litigation Department. He received a B.B.A. degree with a major in economics and a Master of Arts degree, both from the University of Iowa. Randy graduated from the Drake University Law School, with honors, Order of the Coif, and was Editor in Chief of the Drake Law Review. He then spent two years as a law clerk for the Chief Judge of the Southern District of Iowa.
Randy has had significant first chair experience in multiple jury trials in federal and state courts, in the areas of personal injury, franchise disputes, theft of trade secrets, interference with business relations, and first-party insurance defense. His practice currently is concentrated in insurance defense, directly on behalf of insurers, in the areas of misrepresentation, fraudulent conduct, breach of contract, and others. Randy’s current practice involves the supervision and management of litigation on behalf of insurance company clients in state and federal courts in most states and judicial districts. He also assists clients in regulatory matters and market conduct exams.
