Walton and Stanger Celebrate Iowa Supreme Court Victory

The Iowa Supreme Court recently issued a significant decision involving Nyemaster Goode attorneys Thomas H. Walton and Kristina M. Stanger who represented Owl Pharmacy, Frank Reznicek, and Amanda Mathews. The case, Ranes v. Adams Laboratories, Inc., involved an allegation of injury arising out of the ingestion of a pharmaceutical. The trial court granted the client’s summary judgment motion for lack of evidence of causation after striking the plaintiff’s expert toxicologist. This is the first time the Iowa Supreme Court has affirmed an Iowa trial court’s exclusion of expert testimony pursuant to a Daubert analysis.
