Our Practice:
Nyemaster Goode’s attorneys regularly advise and represent multi-state businesses on a wide variety of state and local tax matters, including structural and transactional planning and tax controversies. As appropriate, we work with Nyemaster Goode’s
Governmental Affairs Department to propose or initiate legislative solutions for tax-related problems.
We regularly assist multi-state clients with structural planning to minimize state and local tax liabilities, including analysis of entity structure and business operations. We also review proposed business acquisitions and dispositions to identify and minimize state and local tax consequences. Our work covers all types of state and local taxes, and includes appeals through administrative agencies, boards of review, and judicial proceedings. We have successfully litigated constitutional issues involving state and local tax authorities and frequently represent out-of-state taxpayers in income, sales and use, and property tax disputes in Iowa.
