The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a new version of its I-9 Handbook for Employers. The 63-page handbook provides employers with guidance in completing the I-9 Form, which businesses must use to verify the identity and employment authorization of all new employees. The revised handbook, with a January 5, 2011 publication date, includes examples of new I-9 documents that employees may provide, along with expanded guidance on several topics including Temporary Protected Status (TPS), foreign students, H-1B and H2-A employees, and individuals with temporary employment authorization (EAD) cards.
