Nyemaster Goode is pleased to announce that attorneys Colin Smith, Ryan Leemkuil, and Amanda Atherton have joined the law firm. Colin will practice in the firm's Business, Finance, and Real Estate Department, while Ryan and Amanda will practice in the firm's Litigation Department. All three will be located in Nyemaster Goode's Des Moines office.
Colin graduated with honors from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Political Science (2009). He was included on the Dean's List for each semester and received the Mary Fairall Political Science Scholarship for his undergraduate academic work. Colin earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law (2012). During law school Colin served on the editorial board of the Virginia Journal of Law & Politics as an Executive Submissions Editor. While in law school, Colin took a particular interest in research relating to election law and campaign finance. Colin served as a summer law clerk with the firm in 2010 and 2011.
Prior to attending law school, Colin worked in various capacities in both politics and government. His past work experience includes work on the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and in the Office of Political Affairs at The White House.

Ryan graduated with highest distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Before joining the firm, Ryan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Steven M. Colloton, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Honorable Linda R. Reade, United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from Iowa State University.

Amanda graduated from Drake University Law School with highest honors and is a member of the Order of the Coif. Before joining the firm, she worked as a research attorney at the Michigan Court of Appeals. While in law school, Amanda served as Articles Editor for the Drake Law Review and participated in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. She also served as an intern to Justice Mark Cady and Justice Michael Streit of the Iowa Supreme Court. She received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
