Nyemaster Goode is pleased to announce that attorneys John Blyth and Michael Joyce have joined the law firm. John will practice in the firm's Corporate, Finance, and Real Estate Department in the commercial finance area. Michael will practice in the firm's Tax, Estate Planning, and Employee Benefits Department, with an emphasis in the areas of executive compensation and employee benefits. Both will be located in Nyemaster Goode's Des Moines office.
John has been in practice for over 25 years. He brings to the firm extensive experience in secured and unsecured lending, lease financing, and asset-based lending. Prior to joining Nyemaster Goode, John served for more than 11 years in various in-house legal and compliance roles for affiliates of De Lage Landen, including service as Chief Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer for De Lage Landen's UK affiliate from 2008 to 2011. While with De Lage Landen, a global provider of leasing, business and consumer finance solutions, John provided a broad range of legal and compliance services involving the implementation or review of operating procedures and finance transaction processes, practices and documentation to assure compliance with applicable anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing laws and other applicable legal requirements.
John attended the University of Iowa College of Law where he graduated with high honors. He is an active member of the American and Iowa State Bar Associations.

Michael has been in practice since 2005 at a law firm in Chicago. He brings to the firm extensive experience in executive compensation and employee benefits. Michael counsels companies, compensation committees, and executives in a range of executive compensation matters, including employment and separation arrangements, deferred compensation, equity compensation, and change-in-control matters. He also counsels companies on all aspects of employer-provided benefits, including qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and legal compliance and correction.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law where he graduated with distinction. Prior to law school, Michael was an employee benefits professional with Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
