May 14, 2019

On May 10, Nyemaster Goode attorney Jim Wine served as Program Chair and Moderator for a CLE presentation entitled “Conveyancing and Notarization in the Electronic Age” at the National CLE Conference of the American Bar Association's Real Property Trust and Estate Law Section in Boston. A major portion of the presentation dealt with laws concerning electronic signatures and remote notarizations for real estate documents, both of which are having a significant impact on the mortgage loan industry. Wine previously served as ABA Advisor to the drafting committee for the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts of the Uniform Laws Commission. That act has been adopted by a number of states nationally, including Iowa, and includes provisions relating to both electronic and remote notarizations.
