As city attorneys for a large, growing suburb, our attorneys advise on development agreements, planning and zoning, tax increment finance and redevelopment matters, public bidding, open meetings and open records law matters, and employment matters. We also assist with land acquisitions and conveyances, and routinely conduct eminent domain proceedings for cities and public utilities. We also represent private landowners when their private interests are being acquired by municipal entities. Represent municipal corporations and private landowners in eminent domain proceedings to acquire rights of way for sanitary sewer lines, natural gas and liquid hydrocarbon pipelines, streets, electric transmission lines, and rail lines.
Advise cities on matters relating to public meetings and open records law, including assisting cities in preparing notices of public hearings and resolutions related to setting such hearings.
Assist cities in preparing development agreements, and advise cities on planning and zoning matters.
Assist cities with review of various contracts, including public bidding of city projects.
Assist cities with exercising the cities’ rights of eminent domain.
